Studying Abroad is a life changing experience. I challenge everyone, if you are able, to go to some other country to study even if all you have time for is a summer program. I came to Africa because as an African American, I feel the need to establish a relationship with Africa. This is my first time out of the U.S.A. and this experience makes we want to travel much more to see what the rest of the world has to offer.

In Argentina, I will be taking 15 semester hours classes in Spanish at the IES Center. I will also be staying with a host family, not exactly sure the location. Furthermore, I plan to research urban economic issues since the 1980s debt crisis in Argentina. I would like to also engage in community service activities with the neighboring community.
I also would like to encourage other choir members to take advantage of study abroad opportunities. Studying abroad is not limited to specific majors. Every major can benefit from a cultural experience. Today, more than ever, African Americans are realizing the importance of seizing a study abroad opportunity. This is not just an opportunity to better yourself, but to also help the livelihood of others. Thus, it is essential to be culturally aware and knowlegeable. When God opens doors, you never know where he may lead you!
